Cpu Blow Up!
Ey guys, sorry I havnt been on, my cpu just shut down the other day and hasnt been able to turn on since, im thinking the power supply is shot, but we'll see.

Generally a PC not turning on can be the cause of a literal ton of things. Easiest way to find out if it's your power supply or something else is, while it is plugged in to the wall, open up the side of the case (or look inside if you have a window on it) and look for an LED, or some form of light. If that is on, then something else is causing this.
So yeah, if you dont have any form of LED or small object that emits light built into the motherboard, it could possibly be something more ridiculous like the CPU becoming unseated, or something burning out due to dust 
Wed Nov 04 2009, 07:09AM It seems to have been a power supply issue, I pulled my roomates PSU out of his cpu and threw it on mine while he was away and it started right up (shhhh). I guess ima have to head over to microcenter and buy a new one :/

Fri Nov 06 2009, 07:38AM Microcenter is nerd porn. It's hard to walk out of that place and not blow over a hundred bucks. Power supply issues are the worst since now you've been getting irregular voltage to all of your components and may need to replace other stuff as well.
Fri Nov 06 2009, 05:29PM Yeah, it can be rough but that's only in extreme cases. If the power supply you replaced it with is within I believe 300W then it should be okay. The wattage listed on the power supply is actually NOT the actual amount listed, it's generally up to 200W less in extreme cases.
